
A dear friend sent me a link to this site and if you're at all interested in NYC history or neighborhoods or architecture you must check it out! There's a great interactive map as well as beautiful photos and wonderful snips of New York City neighborhood history.
Caleb Smith is the intrepid walker and his 2 year, 500 mile journey was carefully recorded with a sharpie and an old Hagstrom map. Check it out and have fun!

wow i just found your blog off of kipblog. i can't wait to check out that nyc walking link. i live on the uws and walk to work every day if i can..it takes about an hour but i love it. i walk everywhere i can...

This photo was taken by Caleb Smith, the gentleman who "walked New York". There are many more gorgeous photos of NYC on his site. I can't remember if he indcates any of the technical info. though.
